A New Archetype for Project Managers
Sam is a husband, father, and teacher who enjoys refactoring complex concepts into tangible analogies and actionable tasks. Currently, the self-styled, “Project Wizard” serves as a consultant to the US Navy where he is often suspected of being an “Undercover Boss” for his ability to lead, inspire, and, “get stuff done.”
After graduating from Messiah College in 1994 with a BA in Political Science his first break into Project Management came in 1998 on an IT analysis project while working for the Naval Supply Systems Command; spurred by an influential sponsor, he continued his study into organization behavior and business process improvement and obtained a Master’s degree in Government Administration from Penn State University.
In the ensuing decade(s), he has served in a variety of roles and industries including defense, transportation, finance, education, and energy, gaining a variety of experiences and insights into how to best implement project management practices in the workplace. From 2012 through 2016 he served as Adjunct Faculty in Harrisburg University’s Graduate program for Information Systems Project Management.
